Farhana Khan

Farhana Khan graduated from University of Connecticut in 1997 with a bachelors in Dietetics. While she stayed home and raised three wonderful children for the next 10 years, she was very active in professional organizations and local schools. She eventually made her way to paid work and served in Public health, retail, and teaching. After some years, she decided to go back to school and got an associate in Business Administration and a certificate in Community Health work.
Farhana’s passion in global health has drawn her attention to refugee community in Texas and eventually form her own non profit. She focuses on care coordination of refugee families, especially health care services coordination and self sustenance facilitation. She is the coauthor of two publications after successfully completing a study abroad program in Morocco. She has also taught CHW certification courses online and continues to tutor language and nutrition through virtual platforms. She is currently working on the capacity building of a small nursing school in rural Pakistan.
