Kate Fillin-Yeh
Director of Strategy, National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) -- New York, NY
Kate Fillin-Yeh is an experienced urban planner, city policy-maker, and creative problem-solver. As Director of Strategy at NACTO, Kate oversees the organization’s strategic communications, federal and local policy, transit, and vehicle design/emerging technology portfolios. She sets the vision and frame for NACTO’s guidance, positions, and other publications. In her tenure at NACTO, Kate has developed and managed a variety of major initiatives, including the American Cities Climate Challenge and the Better Bike Share Partnership.
Prior to NACTO she worked at the New York City Department of Transportation where she designed and implemented Citi Bike, the nation’s largest and most heavily used bike share program. Also at NYCDOT, Kate was a lead author of Mayor de Blasio’s Vision Zero Action Plan, creating the policy framework to help bring traffic deaths in New York City to their lowest recorded levels.
Kate holds a BA from Barnard College and a Master’s in Public Policy and Urban Planning from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
