Roy Cosme
President, ARCOS Communications
Roy Cosme created Arcos Communications in 1996, as the result of a successful independent public relations consulting practice started in 1994. As a consultant, he worked on new business development and client campaigns for a variety of Latino public relations and advertising agencies in New York City. In this capacity, he managed projects for such clients as Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A., Pathmark and the New York Foreign Exchange. Arcos Communications works with a broad spectrum of clients in a variety of industries to create and execute public relations and marketing campaigns that reach the hearts and minds of Latino consumers, as well as other multicultural and premium market segments. In addition to this market focus, Arcos specialty areas include healthcare communications, social marketing, corporate branding, consumer promotions and special events. Clients have included Pfizer, Prudential, Latino Commission on AIDS, Betances Health Center, ASPIRA, Ryan Community Health Network, Proctor & Gamble, Roxane Laboratories, CenterCare, Hoffman-LaRoche, GSK and many others.
Prior to starting Arcos Communications, Cosme attained extensive public relations and marketing experience promoting social responsibility and employee relations programs for Verizon, AT&T, the City of New York and the Epilepsy Foundation of America. His experience extends into the public affairs arena, having served as Special Assistant to the Mayor of the City of New York, and includes strategic planning, policy development, issues management, government relations and program management. He has also spearheaded efforts focused on improving union-management relations.
His promotional experience is also varied. He has been a media spokesperson for some of his clients and employers, produced special events such as benefits and live performance shows, directed and produced videos, and has been active in arts marketing. He is President of the Board of Creative Ammo, a nonprofit arts organization he co-founded to produce and promote multicultural performing arts projects including the revered Downtown Urban Arts Festival.
Cosme is a native of Texas and has lived in New York City since 1983. He earned his Master in Public Administration degree from John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Yale University.
